Ardent Receives Civic Approval For Redevelopment Of Seminole Towne Center

The Ardent Cos. has secured City of Sanford approval to redevelop Seminole Towne Center, the former 1.1 million-square-foot mall on a 76-acre site in the Orlando metro.

A key piece of the plan is a 164,585-square-foot Costco that will replace the property’s former Macy’s. The new Costco is slated to include a gas station, tire center and liquor store.

Ardent expects to start demolition and initial site work this summer, with the Costco targeted to open in the second quarter of 2027. The Atlanta-based owner and developer has also been active across the Southeast, acquiring more than $115 million in six ground-up mixed-use development and redevelopment projects over the past year.
