Walmart Supercenter Anchors New 40-Acre Developent In St. Cloud

The Ferber Company, a privately held real estate development and investment company headquartered in Ponte Vedra Beach, announced a new Walmart Supercenter-anchored development in St. Cloud. The 40-acre project includes the 187,000-square-foot Walmart Supercenter, a Walmart Convenience store with fuel, and will also include 7-10 outparcels offering opportunities for quick-service restaurants, retail, and other commercial uses.

Located in Osceola County at the intersection of US 192 and Puffin Road, just east of Narcoossee Road, the project is positioned within one of Central Florida’s fastest-growing communities.

St. Cloud’s population has nearly doubled over the last 15 years, while residential growth continues along the US 192 corridor, including Harmony to the east, Sunbridge to the north, and numerous residential developments in the immediate area.

“We identified this corridor as an area that needed additional retail to serve the rapidly growing residential communities. As the population has expanded, it has become increasingly clear that more goods and services are needed in this area to conveniently serve the community.” shares Ryan Plate, Vice President at Ferber and lead developer on this project. “We’ve enjoyed working with the City of St. Cloud to obtain the necessary approvals to build this great facility for the community. It will continue to keep jobs in St. Cloud as opposed to residents commuting to nearby cities for work.”

The project consists of a two-parcel assemblage that was already zoned Highway Business, allowing the development team to move efficiently through the entitlement process. Construction on Puffin Road and a new traffic signal on US 192 provides a positive impact on local travel, improves safety, and provides convenience to surrounding neighbors.

The project has also benefited from the efforts of a team of consultants and partners, including Hanson, Walter and Associates, Inc., Traffic & Mobility Consultants, JR Davis, and Cogent Bank as well as Alex Bisbee at Insite Real Estate who helped identify the corridor.
