Tavares Business Owner Plans Nearly 20-Acre Commerce Park

Tavares business owner Scott Brockie is looking to expand his company’s operations while creating additional commercial space on a nearly 20-acre property in Lake County.

Plans for the proposed Interlake Commerce Park call for a mix of warehouse, flex-office and recreational uses on 19.18 acres along County Road 561. The site is located approximately 200 feet northeast of the intersection with Frankies Road.

The property currently houses Accu-Cut, Brockie’s carpet-cutting equipment business. Under the proposal, the company would expand its presence at the site while additional buildings would provide flexible office and industrial space for other users.

The development’s most distinctive element is dedicated pickleball space, introducing a recreational use alongside the project’s more traditional commercial components. The combination could broaden the park’s appeal while reflecting the growing crossover between industrial, flex and sports-oriented real estate.

Accu-Cut manufactures machinery used to measure and cut carpet, vinyl and related flooring products. The Tavares-based company has placed thousands of machines with customers in the United States and international markets.

If advanced through the local review process, Interlake Commerce Park would convert the existing business property into a larger employment-focused destination capable of accommodating manufacturing, warehouse and office users. The project would also add new commercial inventory along the County Road 561 corridor as development activity continues to spread throughout Lake County.
