$66 Million Mixed-Use Community Launches In Central Florida
The Allen Morris Company, along with Lamm & Company Partners, and Millenia Partners, announced development plans for Maitland City Centre. The mixed-use development – a $66 million community that will be the first of its kind in the city – will serve as a premier metropolitan oasis for people to shop, dine, live, work and play in what is to become the central hub of Maitland. Maitland City Centre is expected to break ground in fall 2015. The general contractor for the development is a joint venture between Lamm & Company Partners and Walker & Company, Inc. Designed to appeal to both millennials and empty nesters, the project ties together the current city landmarks of City Hall, government offices, the City Central Park and the new Festival Street plan, with the new lifestyle, retail, restaurants, offices, and stylish apartments of Maitland City Centre. This development will establish, for the first time, an urban, mixed-use community in the Maitland submarket that offers a true sense of place for the city’s residents.
“Maitland City Centre brings a new dimension to an area whose leadership is ushering a positive transformation within its downtown to create an authentic and new energetic experience,” said David Lamm, Chairman and CEO of Lamm & Company Partners.
The project will offer approximately 35,000 square feet of rentable commercial space and high visibility with an average daily traffic count of 46,000 vehicles. When complete, Maitland City Centre will encompass a three-acre full city block with bustling sidewalks, trendy dining venues, high-end retail establishments, art and design galleries, and everyday conveniences. The six-story development also includes 220 one- and two-bedroom rental apartments and 24 live/work units encompassing one bedroom and an office. Acclaimed architects ACi of Winter Park designed the Centre in a Santa Fe Mission style, yet with an edgy kick. Each of the beautifully appointed apartment homes will incorporate a fusion of contemporary design and refined elegance, with gourmet kitchens, granite countertops, stainless steel appliances and landscaped terraces. Residences range from 700 to 1,300 square feet and are priced from $1,300 to $2,400 per month. Located across the street from Maitland’s City Hall and the city park, Maitland City Centre is a prime, central location in a neighborhood buzzing with activity. Directly across the street from the development is Festival Street, a lively, pedestrian-friendly block that will play host to regular events including concerts, outdoor movie nights, art shows and much more.“We are already seeing tremendous interest from retailers and restaurants, as well as potential residents, to make Maitland City Centre their home, even as we work with the municipality through the permitting process,” added W. Allen Morris, Chairman and CEO of The Allen Morris Company.
Maitland City Centre is slated for occupancy in 2017.“Residents will come to know Maitland City Centre as their home in the heart of a beautiful established community,” concludes Morris. “From the project’s numerous entertainment offerings, to the festivities of the surrounding area, they will reside amid and be surrounded by all the options of a modern mixed-use community. That is the lifestyle that we plan to deliver.”
