Wawa Enters Highlands County Florida With Double Header Groundbreakings

On Wednesday February 24, Wawa kicked off expansion plans for Highlands County with back-to-back groundbreakings to mark the start of construction on its first stores in Lake Placid and Sebring.

The day began with the Lake Placid Groundbreaking at 9am followed by the Sebring groundbreaking at 10:30am. Both events provided a first look at Wawa’s new approach to convenience with the debut of plans for a beautiful new food and beverage destination designed to bring the community together.  The events also featured brief remarks on company history, career opportunities and job growth.
