Six/Ten LLC reports it has acquired more than two dozen properties in downtown Winter Haven and is now undertaking a modernization program on those parcels. The firm says the modernization effort is to recapture the building’s original architecture as well as add new technologies and amenities in order to attract new business to its properties and the downtown.
“Six/Ten is catapulting the revitalization into reality by creating desirable, contemporary workspace environments and retail destinations,” says Kerry Wilson, president Six/Ten LLC.The company is supporting the efforts of local groups, such as Main Street Winter Haven and the Winter Haven Economic Development Council, to bring people and businesses back to the city’s original hub just south of Lake Silver. This effort includes the historic Beymer Building, which has been fully rehabilitated into Class A office space and is fully occupied. Other unique properties include the site of the original Publix market, an arcade building from 1928 that now houses an artisanal cheese shop, and a multifamily rental community designed by modernist architect Max Strang.
“We are creating a synergy of office, retail and residential offerings,” Wilson says “Tenants enjoy the pedestrian-friendly environment of downtown Winter Haven, and they also want to be a part of its revitalization.”Six/Ten is also investing in technology, having purchased and remodeled two former telecommunication towers with state-of-the-art fiber connections. The buildings have direct connections to more than five high-speed Internet providers, including Level 3 and Verizon, which owns portions of the company’s Inland Fiber & Data Park. The modernization effort is attracting medical and professional practices, along with restaurants, retailers and people seeking an urban lifestyle in a small-town setting, Six/Ten states. The company’s multi-year plan calls for continued investment in downtown properties and technology as well as attracting new companies and residents to the area. Six/Ten LLC is a developer of commercial and residential properties in Winter Haven and other Florida cities, and an investor in Big Data software and related technologies. The company owns and manages more than 450,000 square feet of commercial property.
